Google Pay allows to pay in shops or Internet by phone only – without using cash or card. This service is available to any owner of an Android phone that supports NFC technology. After installing the application on the phone, one need to add a card to it (it is enough to take a photo of it or rewrite the data manually), and then confirm the addition by SMS code. From now on, to pay for a purchase or service, it is enough to bring the phone near the terminal.
– Modern forms of mobile payments are the solution that customers in Poland expect the most from banks. And we listen carefully to our customers and provide them with solutions they need, so we had no doubt that it was worth implementing this project – says Jędrzej Marciniak, vice-president of Credit Agricole Bank Polska responsible for marketing, product development and customer intelligence.
Google Pay payments are rapidly gaining popularity on the Polish market. Currently, they are used by about 300 thousand customers served by 20 financial institutions. A similar solution for iPhone users – Apple Pay – has 200,000 users (CABP will launch this service in the second half of March).
– I would like to stress it strongly: we are a 100% human and 100% digital bank. This means that at the same time we focus on building valuable and sincere relations with clients during personal contacts, as well as we invest heavily in technology development and facilitate access to our services through remote channels – says Jędrzej Marciniak.
CABP has its achievements in this field, noticed by both customers and the market. In example CA24 Mobile application is one of the best-rated banking applications in Poland and as the only one on the market is equipped with an antimalware solution. In 2018, the bank launched the KrEdytka chatbot (supports the sale of cash loans via Facebook) and the Lydia telebot (supports sales over the phone); both won many awards as innovative and pioneering solutions on the Polish banking market.
