These principles open the way for the global banking sector’s transformation to a more inclusive and sustainable model. Crédit Agricole S.A. has also signed on to the United Nations Collective Commitment to Climate Action, which sets specific binding measures that banks must take to boost their contributions.
These new initiatives for the climate and responsible finance are in line with the company’s commitments in the Medium Term Plan and Crédit Agricole group’s Climate Strategy laid out in June. By signing on to these initiatives, Crédit Agricole S.A. reaffirms its willingness to continue taking action to promote a more inclusive economy and its intention to make green finance one of the keys to the Group’s growth. As a world leader in green bonds and pioneer in climate finance for 10 years, the bank’s ambition is to become the top European actor in responsible investment by 2022.
